Everyone deserves to feel whole

"The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well."
Alfred Adler
About Me
I received my Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Trent University and continued my studies in Clinical Psychology at Adler Professional Graduate School. I graduated with a Master of Psychology and a Certificate in Adler Trauma Psychotherapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Psychological Associate with the The College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
I am a unique therapeutic service dedicated to recovering what I believe is the essence of psychological treatment: holistic treatment of the entire person. We are not divided into sections and we deserve to feel whole.
I work with adolescents and adults and have in-depth familiarity with veterans and first responders. I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger, and relationship/attachment issues, however, I can assist you with a variety of other struggles.
As a clinician, I utilise an Eclectic approach. I mainly practice from an Adlerian, Trauma-Informed methodology, although, I often find it useful to bring in therapeutic theories from Humanistic, PsychoDynamic, Feminist, Positive Psychology, Relational, and Schema Therapies. I also employ tools from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Buddhist-Derived Interventions like Mindfulness.
I am a very unstructured therapist who focuses heavily on self-worth, self-care, goals, patterns & usefulness of behaviour, reframing, & building a strong rapport with you.
I will use whatever tools or methods that suit my client the best as with therapy, one size does not fit all.
Please note: I ooze personality and I will never put on a front. I do not always present as the most "classic professional" in my field. This means I might wear nerdy jewellery or clothing, or I might disclose a story from my life which I think may be useful in your journey. Most people find this to be comforting, however, this may be a factor in whether I am a fit for you.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instil self-understanding among clients and encourage them to choose to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment. That being said, in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behaviour and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

Important questions to ask your Insurance Company before attending counselling
In Canada, if you have extended health benefits at work you may be eligible for some coverage of counselling sessions.
Before you come for counselling, call your insurance provider and ask the following questions to ensure eligibility:
1. How much am I covered for?
Ask the amount of money which you are covered for.
2. What is the maximum amount paid per session for the therapist?
Insurance companies often pay below the provider’s private practice rate for services. It is important that you know what the insurance company maximum is and what the private practice fee is.
3. Is the coverage for a calendar year or a fiscal year?
Some insurance companies give a set amount of money that you can use in a year for counselling. It is important to know if they base this on a calendar year (beginning in January-December) or a fiscal year (beginning in April to May). Depending on when you need to begin your counselling, this question can make a big difference in the amount of coverage available to you.
